Your first class

Start here

Many of our classes have prerequisites, to keep you safe and to make the class work for everyone in it. Read each class description before signing up to make sure you meet the requirements — and use the recommended path below.

Introduction to Pole

If you're interested in pole, make sure your very first class is Intro to Pole. It's designed for absolute beginners. In it we'll:

  • Give you a quick studio tour
  • Show you how to wipe down and care for the poles
  • Show you how to switch a pole between static and spin
  • Ask you to take off rings and jewellery, for your safety and the pole's
  • Teach the fundamentals: basic walks, simple spins, floorwork and strength-building

After one Intro to Pole you can register for any Pole Level 1.

Intro to Aerial Arts

You don't have to quit your job to join the circus.

This class lets you try both aerial hoop and aerial silks in one session: basic positions and poses on each, aerial safety, and conditioning for strength, flexibility and body awareness.

After it you can join any Hoop L1 or Silks L1 class.

Wear leggings or yoga pants, a fitted tank top and socks. No jewellery.

New here?

Before your first class

Do I need to be strong or flexible already?

No. Intro classes assume you have never touched a pole or a silk — no strength requirement, no dance background. Strength and flexibility come from the classes.

What should I wear?

For pole, shorts and a tank top or sports bra: skin contact is what keeps you on the pole. For aerial, leggings or yoga pants, a fitted tank top and socks to keep your body covered. Either way, no jewellery, especially rings.

When do my three weeks start?

At your first class, not when you buy the pass. You can buy it now and start when you are ready.

Is open practice included?

Yes. The trial pass includes 4 open pole practice sessions on top of your six classes.

I'm shy — will I fit in?

Absolutely. Almost everyone feels a little nervous at first. Even Robbie, the owner of R.Song Studios, took two years after discovering pole to finally take his first class.

Can I watch a class before joining?

To protect our students' comfort and privacy we don't allow class observations. An intro class is the best way to see what it's like.
